Take a stroll through Alcazaba
Spain has had many rulers over the years and that still reflects in its architecture. Alcaza has some really impressive buildings built between the 11th and the 14th century by the Moorish rulers of Spain. When you go visit do not confuse it with the Alcaza of Granada.
The Alcaza is built on a steep hill at different levels, this was done to create a fortress to protect the kingdom. This is yet another great place for an architecture admirer. The Alcaza has two massively built compounds – one has Arch of Christ, a chapel and Patio de Armas, an Arabic style garden and the second compound has the Maldonado Tower, three courtyards and elegant marble columns.
Take a ride in a cable car
At the heart of Costa del Sol just 20 minute drive from Malaga you will find Benalmadena . The cable cars in Benalmadena offer some of the best views in Spain. The entire ride is just 15 minutes and the highest vantage point is 800 metres. During the summer months you can also take a ride at night to get a different view of the city.
A visit to the Butterfly Park
Benalmadena also has a beautiful Butterfly Park which is great for the kids. The park has more than 1500 different species of butterflies from South America, Asia and Europe. But, that’s not all, the park also has a Buddhist Temple, waterfalls and an amazing garden.
Discover the remains of the Roman Empire
The Romans also ruled Europe for a long time and left many of their footprints. There are Roman remains all around the Costa del Sol but the best ones have to be Lighthouse factory and Necropolis. This place really gives you a deep insight about the Roman Empire and why they were so ahead of their time.
